Abstract

En el marco del enfoque multisectorial Una-Salud, que promueve la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), se establece que la esencia del médico veterinario es la protección de la salud pública, concepto que a la vez aboga por el balance e interacción de la salud humana, animal y el ambiente. De ahí la importancia de este enfoque para concientizar sobre la prevención de hábitos que aumentan el riesgo de contraer enfermedades infecciosas como el covid-19.

In the framework of the One-Health multi-sectoral approach promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO), it is established that the essence of the veterinary doctor is the protection of public health, a concept that at the same time advocates the balance and interaction of human, animal and environmental health. Hence the importance of this approach in raising awareness of the prevention of habits that increase the risk of infectious diseases such as covid-19.
