La mujer en la familia y el valor de los hijos

Abstract

Con el propósito de entender mejor la fecundidad en Costa Rica, el Instituto de Estudios Sociales Población (IDESPO) de la Universidad Nacional, en coordinación con el Programa de Población de la Universidad de Cornell, Estados Unidos, realizó una encuesta sobre "Algunos Factores Socioeconómicos y Psicológicos que influyen la Fecundidad". En la encuesta se profundizó sobre aspectos socioeconómicos y psicológicos que influyen en la fecundidad entre el grupo de mujeres casadas convivientes entre 20 y 51 años de edad, que habian sido entrevistadas en 1979 para la Encuesta Nacional de Fecundidad, realizada por la Dirección General de Estadis- tica y Censos. Este trabajo preparado por la Lic. Olda Ma. Acuña y titulado "La Mujer en la Familia y el Valor de los Hijos' es el segundo informe que divulga el IDESPO basado en la encuesta.In order to better understand fertility in Costa Rica, the Institute for Social and Population Studies (IDESPO) at the National University, in coordination with the Population Program at Cornell University in the United States, conducted a survey on “Some Socioeconomic and Psychological Factors That Influence Fertility.” The survey examined in depth the socioeconomic and psychological factors influencing fertility among a group of married or cohabiting women aged 20 to 51 who had been interviewed in 1979 for the National Fertility Survey conducted by the General Directorate of Statistics and Censuses. This study, prepared by Olda Ma. Acuña and titled “Women in the Family and the Value of Children,” is the second report released by IDESPO based on the survey.
