Resumen
¡ALFIN!
ALFIN! Information, Leadership, and ME is a project that originated from the final graduation project “Leadership in Users with Disabilities at ACOCONE: Educational Management for Information Literacy” from the Master's Degree in Educational Management with an emphasis on Leadership at the National University of Costa Rica. This project was designed using the Project Management Body of Knowledge methodology. Within this project, INFO-capacítate was developed, which is the result of a curricular strategy and consists of five workshops aimed at people with disabilities, where information skills focused on the topic of leadership are promoted. The objective of the workshops is to create spaces that encourage users of the Coronado Community Association for Adults with Special Needs (ACOCONE) to search for, select, systematize, analyze, and use information. Access to information contributes to better decision-making and, therefore, promotes a better quality of life. Currently, one of the key factors for human development in the so-called Information and Knowledge Society is not limited to access to information, but also to the development of information skills (those that allow for the appropriate and conscious use of information). People with disabilities, like the rest of society, need to exercise their right to access information, as this right dignifies individuals and allows them to exercise other rights. Furthermore, the issue of leadership among people with disabilities has been little studied. This research is carried out through interdisciplinary work between the areas of Educational Management, Special Education, and Library and Information Science, promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities and the exercise of their right to access information.
