El resumen habla sobre los peligros ambientales y para la biota derivados de la importación de plaguicidas en Costa Rica entre 1977 y 2006, identificando sustancias con alta toxicidad y potencial de daño ecológico. Concluye que existe un riesgo significativo para los ecosistemas y organismos vivos, y destaca la necesidad de mejorar la regulación y gestión de estos productos en el país
