Resumen
En el volumen setiembre - octubre 2011 de la revista académica Foreign Affairs, aparece el análisis “Por
qué Israel debe apoyar la independencia palestina”, de Isaac Herzog, quien es miembro del Comité de
Defensa y Relaciones Exteriores del Partido Laborista en el parlamento israelí. Este análisis se refiere a lo acontecido en setiembre de este año cuando la Autoridad Nacional Palestina
(ANP) intentaba pedir a la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU), por medio de una resolución, que lo reconozca como Estado, obligando a Israel a moverse para evitar que la propuesta palestina fuera aceptada. Israel no pudo y la ANP ya presentó su solicitud formalmente ante el Secretario General de la ONU y está a la espera de votación y una respuesta.
