Resumen
Este informe de diagnóstico social, cultural, ecológico y económico fue elaborado por la RED DESCA ARUANDA en colaboración con comunidades Kayapó de la Amazonía brasileña, particularmente en el estado de Pará, como parte del Programa Raízes. El estudio documenta las condiciones de vida de estas comunidades y evalúa el potencial del aprovechamiento agroecológico y comercial de la castanha-do-pará (nuez de Brasil) como alternativa de desarrollo sustentable, en diálogo con la cultura y la autodeterminación de los pueblos indígenas.
This social, cultural, ecological, and economic diagnostic report was prepared by RED DESCA ARUANDA in collaboration with Kayapó communities in the Brazilian Amazon, particularly in the state of Pará, as part of the Raízes Program. The study documents the living conditions of these communities and assesses the potential for agroecological and commercial use of the castanha-do-pará (Brazil nut) as an alternative for sustainable development, in dialogue with the culture and self-determination of indigenous peoples.
