Resumen
En El Salvador, el sector cafetalero ha sido uno de los que más divisas ha generado al país, dado que el mayor porcentaje de lo producido se exporta en grano oro; sin embargo, si se pretende potenciar el mercado interno y agregar valor al café local es necesario conocer las preferencias de la población meta. Es así, como el presente estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar a los consumidores de café a partir de sus preferencias, hábitos de consumo y compra en El Salvador, así como también conocer las opiniones/motivaciones de personas no consumidoras con la finalidad de identificar tendencias entorno a este mercado. Esta investigación es de tipo descriptiva, y se empleó un cuestionario on-line como método de recolección de la información, que posteriormente fue analizada mediante estadística descriptiva. Con la muestra obtenida se identificaron respuestas que se asocian con una evolución y mayor conocimiento de los consumidores sobre el café.
