Resumen
Como resultado de la entrega de la primera parte de los resultados del proyecto del Fondo Institucional para el Desarrollo Académico de la Universidad Nacional (Fida-UNA), sobre la situación sanitaria del
camarón blanco en zonas productivas de Costa Rica, se acordó iniciar las gestiones para formular un proyecto entre las cinco universidades estatales que brinde acompañamiento y asesoría técnica a los camaroneros de Puntarenas y el Golfo de Nicoya.
Esta actividad tuvo lugar en el Parque Marino de Puntarenas, con la presencia de más de 30 pequeños camaroneros, investigadores de la UNA, de la Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN) y la representante
del Programa Nacional de Sanidad Acuícola del Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal (Senasa), Carolina Elizondo. Nelson Peña Navarro, estudiante de la Maestría en Enfermedades Tropicales e investigador de la UTN, y José Parajeles Mora, estudiante de la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad Nacional (EMV-UNA) expusieron los resultados obtenidos en sus investigaciones de tesis,
relacionados con la forma en que se producen los pequeños camaroneros y los agentes infecciosos presentes en sus sistemas de producción.
As a result of the delivery of the first part of the results of the project of the Institutional Fund for the Academic Development of the National University (Fida-UNA), on the health situation of white shrimp in productive areas of Costa Rica, it was agreed to start the steps to formulate a project among the five state universities to provide support and technical advice to the shrimpers of Puntarenas and the Gulf of Nicoya. This activity took place in the Puntarenas Marine Park, with the presence of more than 30 small shrimpers, researchers from the UNA, the National Technical University (UTN) and the representative of the of the National Aquaculture Health Program of the National Animal Health Service (Senasa), Carolina Elizondo. Nelson Peña Navarro, student of the Master in Tropical Diseases and researcher of the UTN, and José Parajeles Mora, student of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University (EMV-UNA) presented the results obtained in their thesis research, related to the way in which small shrimps are produced and the infectious agents present in their production systems.
