Factores que inciden en la violencia intrafamiliar en las mujeres del Barrio Los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón durante el primer semestre de 2006.

Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo como propósito investigar la influencia del nivel cultural el nivel del consumo de drogas y el grado de autoestima en la violencia intrafamiliar en las mujeres del Barrio los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón durante el primer semestre de 2006. La investigación responde a un estudio de tipo descriptivo, ya que pretende describir el fenómeno de la incidencia de variables en la violencia doméstica. La literatura consultada muestra todo el contenido relacionado con la violencia intrafamiliar, desde sus características, formas, su origen, la teoría de género la autoestima y la drogadicción relacionadas con la temática principal. Para obtener la información se diseñó un instrumento con cuarenta y un ítems dirigidos a las mujeres del Barrio los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón. Cada uno con opciones de Siempre, Casi Siempre, Nunca y Casi Nunca. Así se recolectó información para cada una de las variables. La población total es de doscientas doce mujeres y la muestra está representada por ciento seis mujeres del Barrio los Ángeles elegidas aleatoriamente. Se encontró que la influencia de las variables: nivel cultural, nivel de consumo de drogas y el grado de autoestima en la violencia doméstica es baja; ya que se encontraron niveles de 25%, 26% y 49%, respectivamente. Las principales recomendaciones que se sugieren son deben participar mujeres y hombres de la comunidad del Barrio Los Ángeles en talleres referentes a la temática de la violencia intrafamiliar. Acudir a charlas que brinden información acerca de la cultura, las consecuencias de la drogadicción y la autoestima. Además, se recomienda realizar nuevas investigaciones para detectar las causas de la violencia intrafamiliar no identificadas en esta investigación. A los orientadores u orientadoras se recomienda capacitarse específicamente en el tema de la violencia intrafamiliar y coordinar con las distintas entidades públicas presentes en la comunidad acciones de prevención y erradicación de la violencia doméstica. Los resultados de la investigación sirven para explicar el problema en Barrio Los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón y no se puede generalizar a otras comunidades, ni regiones, ni menos, al resto del país.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of the cultural level, the level of drug consumption and the degree of self-esteem on domestic violence among women in the Los Ángeles neighborhood of Pérez Zeledón during the first semester of 2006. The research responds to a descriptive type of study, since it intends to describe the phenomenon of the incidence of variables in domestic violence. The literature consulted shows all the content related to domestic violence, from its characteristics, forms, its origin, gender theory, self-esteem and drug addiction related to the main topic. To obtain the information, an instrument was designed with forty-one items directed to the women of Barrio Los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón. Each one with options of Always, Almost Always, Never and Almost Never. Thus, information was collected for each of the variables. The total population is two hundred and twelve women and the sample is represented by one hundred and six randomly selected women from Barrio Los Ángeles. It was found that the influence of the variables: cultural level, level of drug use and degree of self-esteem on domestic violence is low; since levels of 25%, 26% and 49%, respectively, were found. The main recommendations suggested are that women and men from the community of Barrio Los Ángeles should participate in workshops on the subject of domestic violence. They should attend talks that provide information about culture, the consequences of drug addiction and self-esteem. In addition, it is recommended that further research be conducted to detect the causes of domestic violence not identified in this research. It is recommended that counselors receive specific training on the topic of domestic violence and coordinate with the different public entities present in the community to prevent and eradicate domestic violence. The results of the research serve to explain the problem in Barrio Los Ángeles de Pérez Zeledón and cannot be generalized to other communities, regions or the rest of the country.
