Abstract

ERIC es un sistema de información educativa creado en 1966 por el Departamento de Educación de Estados Unidos, encargado de recopilar, seleccionar, resumir, indizar y difundir literatura especializada en educación. Está compuesto por una oficina central que establece políticas y 16 centros especializados que recolectan información en distintas áreas educativas. Estos centros envían datos y resúmenes para la elaboración de dos publicaciones principales: *Resources in Education (RIE)* y *Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE)*. ERIC disemina la información mediante diversos formatos, como bases de datos, microfichas y CD-ROM, incorporando tecnologías para optimizar el acceso a la información bibliográfica.

ERIC is an educational information system created in 1966 by the U.S. Department of Education, responsible for collecting, selecting, summarizing, indexing, and disseminating specialized educational literature. It comprises a central office that establishes policies and 16 specialized centers that collect information in various educational areas.
