Resumen
El texto que se tradujo se llama Power and Control: Tactics of Men who Better.
The text that was translated is called Power and Control: Tactics of Men who Better. There is currently no Spanish version. It deals with violence in the home, especially men's physical and emotional aggression against women. It is part of the report of a workshop held in Duluth, Minnesota and is basically structured in two parts: theory and practice. The original idea of the text is to create educational groups with male aggressors where they talk about their violent and abusive behaviors, take responsibility for the consequences and, of course, change those behaviors as much as possible. The theoretical part explains all the legal terms and processes needed for male aggressors to enter educational groups. In addition, the theory includes the types of behavior and patterns that the abuser uses to abuse his partner. The theory defines key terms such as "control", "power", "physical and emotional abuse", among others. On the other hand, there is the practical approach in which it clearly establishes the organization of the educational groups, the themes and the different manners of developing the groups. In this part, the distribution of time in the activities of the educational groups is commented on, as well as different types of dialogues between the coordinators and the aggressors, as well as the testimonies of the aggressors and their victims. The translation serves to later focus on the problem of finding different styles in a text and thus contribute to a topic of which there is little literature available in Spanish.
