This paper focuses on the bioethical analysis of the application of the precautionary principle to xenotransplantation (transplantation from animals to humans), considering the potential risk of xenozoonosis, from a "Una Salud" perspective. It starts with a literature review and conceptual analysis on generalities and risks associated with xenotransplantation, the main bioethical aspects to consider with this technique, as well as the state of knowledge on the transfer of diseases through transplanted organs from animals to humans. In this way, the precautionary principle, its philosophical origins and its applicability in medical sciences are covered.
