Abstract

Con esta obra nos encontramos ante el extraño caso de un filme menos importante que todo lo que guarda relación con ésta: la apasionante novela original, el millonario éxito de ambos, la intensa y orquestada campaña de desprestigio por parte de iglesias cristianas, que se sumó a la de promoción impulsada por los distribuidores, y del escandaloso manoseo mediático de los temas que trata. Lo que al menos sugiere la certeza de una idea que se deriva del propio libro: de cómo los intereses y las intrigas de poder definen las organizaciones religiosas en el devenir humano, lo que no hay que confundir con el anhelo de lo metafísico, con la inspiración divina, que vibra en el alma de cada individuo.

With this work we are faced with the strange case of a film that is less important than everything else related to it: the gripping original novel, the millionaire success of both, the intense and orchestrated smear campaign by Christian churches, in addition to the promotional campaign promoted by distributors, and the scandalous media manipulation of the themes it deals with. This at least suggests the certainty of an idea that derives from the book itself: how the interests and intrigues of power define religious organizations in human evolution, which should not be confused with the yearning for the metaphysical, with the divine inspiration that vibrates in the soul of each individual.
