El Uso de Tú, Vos y Usted en el Español de las Américas

Abstract

Dentro de las fórmulas de tratamiento en el español de las américas se encuentra el tu, vos y usted. La Real Academia Española define las formas de tratamiento a las variantes pronominales utilizadas para dirigirse a un destinatario en función a relación social entre los interlocutores. En el uso y selección de los tratamientos inciden factores como lo son el trato de confianza y familiaridad ó de respeto. La utilización de los pronombres de segunda persona singular se realiza con base en el contexto de formalidad; siendo usted de uso formal o el tú y el vos para un trato informal. El comportamiento respecto al uso de estos pronombres durante el período colonial estuvo marcado por una significativa variabilidad e inconstancia.
