Dicho estudio lo desarrolla Víctor Montenegro, parasitólogo de la EMV-UNA. Según el parasitólogo, esta investigación surgió a partir de un proyecto piloto sobre el estudio de las garrapatas y el impacto de la transmisión de las enfermedades rikettsiales (enfermedades infecciosas transmitidas por picaduras de artrópodos) en Costa Rica, iniciativa del Consejo Nacional de Rectores (Conare), con respaldo económico del Fondo Especial para la Educación Superior (Fess), en el que participaron investigadores de la UNA, UCR, UNED y TEC.The parasitology laboratory of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National University (EMV-UNA) is carrying out the research "Seasonality of hard ticks populations in three climatic zones of Costa Rica", which aims to determine the behavior of ticks in Carara, Palo Verde and Sarapiquí. This study is developed by Victor Montenegro, parasitologist of the EMV-UNA.
