Se muestra el contexto, una fundamentación teórica vinculada a las ideas del Programa Internacional de Etnomatemáticas, la metodología implementada y algunos resultados relevantes que plantean nuevos desafíos para la formación profesional inicial de profesores en esta área.This paper describes, in a narrative way, the experience of two teachers of the History of Mathematics course, taught at the National University of Costa Rica, who have promoted research into the History of Mathematics Education in Costa Rica, as an innovating activity, to pre-service mathematics’ teachers, who, through interviews with retired mathematics teachers, have managed to demonstrate this historical evolution.
