Vega Benavides, KarenGrau García, Cynthia2024-09-122024-09-122024https://hdl.handle.net/11056/28855Se realizó una pasantía en el Hospital de Especies Menores y Silvestres, de la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria, Universidad Nacional, Heredia, Costa Rica; durante ocho semanas comprendidas entre los meses de junio y julio de 2022, y de abril a mayo de 2023. En total se realizaron 380 horas, durante las cuales se atendieron 200 pacientes, de los cuales 132 fueron caninos y 68 felinos. Los datos de cada animal fueron anotados, así como la razón de consulta o procedimiento y su desenlace dependiendo del caso, del mismo modo, se anotó si se realizaron o no exámenes complementarios, para así, mostrar los datos de manera comparativa por medio de cuadros. Durante la pasantía, se participó en las áreas de consulta externa, medicina interna, diagnóstico por imágenes, toma y análisis de pruebas complementarias y cirugía de tejidos blandos. Con el abordaje de los casos, se hizo evidente la necesidad de realizar una anamnesis detallada del paciente, así como la gran capacidad de observación y análisis que requiere el médico veterinario y la importancia de trabajar en conjunto con personal capacitado en áreas especializadas, el uso de imagenología como ultrasonografía y radiografía, realización de pruebas complementarias como exámenes de sangre, heces y examen objetivo específico se realizaron con el fin de brindar el mejor diagnóstico y tratamiento posibles.An internship was carried out at the Small Animal and Wildlife Animal Hospital, of School of Veterinarian Medicine, Universidad Nacional, Heredia, Costa Rica, during eight weeks between June and July 2022, and from April to May 2023. In total, 380 hours were carried out and two hundred patients were attended, there were 132 canines and sixty-eight felines. The data of each animal was registered: the reason of consultation or procedure and its outcome depending on the case, and complementary examinations performed, to show the data in a comparative manner through tables. During the internship, there was participation in the areas of outpatient consultation, internal medicine, imaging diagnosis, taking and analyses of complementary tests and soft tissue surgery. With the approach the need to take a detailed anamnesis of the patient became evident, as well as the great capacity for observation and analysis required by the veterinarian and the importance of working together with trained personnel in specialized areas.
