El estudio se enmarca en un enfoque metodológico descriptivo de carácter cuantitativo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 26 estudiantes, 6 docentes y el director de la División de Educación. Los resultados evidencian que no existe una pertinencia curricular plena entre la denominación de la carrera y las necesidades reales del estudiantado. Asimismo, se identifican debilidades significativas en el componente pedagógico de la oferta curricular, la cual fue diseñada en el Centro de Investigación y Docencia en Educación (CIDE), con sede en Heredia, sin la realización previa de un diagnóstico contextual que considerara las particularidades de la región.This research examines the degree of correspondence between the curriculum of the Bachelor of Education degree program, with a concentration in Cycle I and II, taught by the National University at its Brunca Region campus, and the current educational needs of the teaching staff in the canton of Pérez Zeledón. The study is based on a quantitative descriptive methodological approach. The sample consisted of 26 students, 6 teachers, and the director of the Education Division. The results show that there is no full curricular relevance between the name of the degree program and the real needs of the student body.
