La posición platónica discute lo bello según las pautas de armonía, orden, simetría y proporción, de manera que, se puede aludir a una preponderancia del ethos, el cual tiene un correlativo escultórico con el periodo clásico. Por su parte, Plotino fundamenta lo bello a partir de una apreciación múltiple, es decir, admite un pathos, aspecto que se vincula con la escultura helenística. De acuerdo con lo anterior, se establecerá un diálogo entre el discurso filosófico y la representación artística.The following article analyzes the philosophical conception of Plato and Plotinus regarding the beautiful and its correspondence with Greek art. The Platonic position discusses the beautiful according to the guidelines of harmony, order, symmetry and proportion, so that, it can be alluded to a preponderance of ethos, which has a sculptural correlative with the classical period. For his part, Plotinus bases the beautiful on a multiple appreciation, that is, he admits a pathos, an aspect that is linked to Hellenistic sculpture.
