En este contexto se puede notar que en Costa Rica el mercado de carne bovina, presenta un rezago en su producción y por tanto se requiere una mayor internalización del sector, con el fin de aumentar el producto interno para abastecer la demanda de carne tanto en el ámbito nacional como internacional. La investigación aborda índices de competitividad y entrevistas a expertos en el sector, en aras de plantear estrategias para el mejoramiento del sector agroindustrial bovino en el tránsito hacia una articulación de procesos de valor agregado más avanzado, con beneficios para ser más competitivo en el ámbito internacional.This work stems from an interest in addressing the issues of competitiveness and trade related to the beef sector in Costa Rica, especially with an emphasis on the factors that strengthen and weaken the competitiveness of companies belonging to the agro-industrial link in the value chain of the meat industry in Costa Rica, for their integration into the international market. In this context, it can be observed that the beef market in Costa Rica lags behind in production and therefore requires greater internationalization of the sector in order to increase domestic production to meet the demand for meat both nationally and internationally.
