Su aplicación se llevó a cabo de forma presencial en el laboratorio del Centro Tecnológico de Investigación Social (CETIS) del IDESPO. La recolección de datos se efectuó telefónicamente entre el 16 y el 25 de octubre de 2025, mediante entrevistas a personas costarricenses o extranjeras nacionalizadas, dieciocho años o más y usuarias de telefonía celular dentro del territorio nacional. El trabajo de campo estuvo a cargo de un equipo de estudiantes encuestadores, quienes laboraron en las estaciones del laboratorio CETIS con el acompañamiento de personal de supervisión técnica y académica del CETIS y del Programa Umbral Político. El propósito principal de esta encuesta fue describir las percepciones de la población costarricense adulta inscrita en el Padrón Electoral del Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones (TSE) respecto a la coyuntura sociopolítica y las culturas políticas del país, en el marco de las elecciones nacionales de 2026. The survey “Perception of the Political Situation and the 2026 National Electoral Process” was conducted by the research team of the Programa Umbral Político of the Instituto de Estudios Sociales en Población (IDESPO) at the Universidad Nacional (UNA). It was implemented in person at the Centro Tecnológico de Investigación Social (CETIS) laboratory of IDESPO. Data collection was carried out by telephone between October 16 and 25, 2025, through interviews with Costa Rican citizens and naturalized residents aged 18 or older who use mobile phones within the national territory. The fieldwork was conducted by a team of student interviewers, working at CETIS laboratory stations with the technical and academic supervision of CETIS and the Programa Umbral Político staff.
