El proyecto de investigación es llevado a cabo en una comunidad llamada Rivas de San Gerardo localizada en el cantón de Pérez Zeledón. A partir del análisis de los datos de la región acerca de las mujeres rurales ejerciendo actividades económicas, así como la gran competencia y rezago social, económico y educativo surge el problema de cómo se puede contribuir a que un grupo de mujeres puedan mejorar sus ingresos por medio de su actividad económica logrando la equidad de los sexos. El proyecto está basado en un mercado solidario dirigido por un grupo de mujeres específicamente de la Asociación de mujeres del Chirripó, esta asociación tiene un proyecto: El mercado solidario, se realiza en dos lugares distintos. A). los días miércoles en Chimirol y B). los sábados en Rivas. En el cada asociado y mujeres de la zona participan en la venta de comida, artesanías, plantas y especialmente lo que cada familia cultiva en sus tierras. Se debe de entender que el proyecto gira en torno a las relaciones socioproductivas que giran en torno a este mercado solidario, sin embargo, para comprender las relaciones se debe de estudiar los actores quienes lo crearon, es por el cual se inicia con el estudio de la asociación para analizar si su administración y gestión de recursos y actividades tiene algún impacto en el Mercado Solidario.This research project has been carried out with the purpose of understanding and identifying the needs and incidences of socio-productive activities from a gender perspective.
