Es una investigación cuantitativa-descriptiva, trabajo con el 100% de la población correspondiente a 36 personas. Las conclusiones indican que los factores sociales y afectivos inciden en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la matemática. También se identificó que los estudiantes encuentran poca utilidad a la matemática en la vida cotidiana, esto genera en los educandos desinterés y cierto rechazo hacia esta materia.This study investigates the academic and socio-affective factors that influence the mathematics performance of students in the second cycle of the San Lorenzo and San Salvador schools, circuit 04, during the 2002 school year. It is a quantitative-descriptive study, working with 100% of the population, corresponding to 36 people. The conclusions indicate that social and affective factors have an impact on the teaching and learning of mathematics.
