Considera además los rasgos sobresalientes de dichas actividades a saber: café, caña de azúcar, fresas, plantas ornamentales, ganadería de leche y hortalizas. Asimismo, relaciona la dinámica de inserción de la población en este sector productivo, justificando las actividades agrícolas como relevantes en el desarrollo económico del cantón. La caracterización efectuada permitió identificar las tendencias de los sistemas agrícolas tradicionales, no tradicionales y las actividades agrícolas emergentes. La metodología involucra la revisión de datos secundarios de diversas fuentes, estadísticas y censales, enriquecidas con levantamiento de campo, visitas y entrevistas de campo a productores. Este trabajo se enmarca dentro del plan regulador del cantón de Poás, realizado por la Escuela de Ciencias Geográficas de la Universidad Nacional.This article presents the dynamics and coordination of agricultural activities in the canton of Poás. It also considers the salient features of these activities, namely: coffee, sugar cane, strawberries, ornamental plants, dairy farming, and vegetables. It also relates the dynamics of the population's involvement in this productive sector, justifying agricultural activities as relevant to the canton's economic development. The characterization carried out made it possible to identify trends in traditional and non-traditional agricultural systems and emerging agricultural activities. The methodology involves reviewing secondary data from various sources, statistics, and censuses, enriched with field surveys, visits, and field interviews with producers.
