The religious scholar Mariano Corbí has made in several of his works an assertion of great importance: that the religious text (rite, celebration) genuinely can only be read as a poem, that is, symbolically, as we read art. . Among his great contributions is not (yet) that of showing the rationale for making such an assertion, but there is no doubt that what we are dealing with is a conviction with no return; not only of no return, but of Copernican implications in Christian religion and theology, though not only. Hence the importance of being able to show it. Yes, with rare exceptions (apophatic theology and some mystical theologies), until now religion and theologies have read religious texts in conceptual, albeit analogical terms, discovered that the expressive material of the religious is only symbolic and cannot be anything else, religion. and theologies will have to take note of it and change profoundly. For example, being knowledge the religious experience, it will not be possible to go to the religious texts to look for truths; truths about the soul, about life and death, about the afterlife, about the universe, about the end of history and its process, strictly speaking, nor truths of a moral order. Religions, even if they pretend and present themselves this way, are not carriers of such truths. The supposedly revealed truths are not truths of that nature. Knowledge of religions, if it is authentic, is silent, non-functional, profoundly and totally disinterested and unfocused, gratuitous and nothing but gratuitous; the knowledge that occurs when all other knowledge has disappeared, has been silenced (silent knowledge).es_ES
