La biblioteca escolar de la institución Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz, del distrito Daniel Flores de Pérez Zeledón y su integración efectiva al currículo y a la comunidad educativa

Abstract

La biblioteca escolar es un elemento de gran ayuda dentro del sistema educativo, ya que apuesta por su importancia en el desarrollo de habilidades en la niñez, con el apoyo de la biblioteca los centros educativos han puesto en marcha servicios de calidad donde ayudan a desarrollar mejor el tipo de educación de una forma lúdica y dinámica, obteniendo mejores resultados. La biblioteca de hoy en día toma un perfil de centro de aprendizajes en donde los niños y las niñas puedan aprender experimentando, dejando de lado el viejo significado de guardar libros. En esta investigación se apuesta por una mejora en el servicio de la biblioteca al incluirla dentro del currículo del centro educativo al que pertenece. Asimismo, los objetivos que guiaron esta investigación son los siguientes: como objetivo general “Proponer estrategias para la integración de la biblioteca al currículo escolar de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz, mediante el diseño de servicios y productos de información, herramientas tecnológicas, programas y proyectos, congruentes con los objetivos de aprendizaje, y con las necesidades detectadas en el diagnóstico institucional”. Por consiguiente, de este objetivo general se desprendieron los siguientes objetivos específicos: describir el contexto educativo en el que la Biblioteca de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz se desempeña, para la identificación de los problemas y desafíos que enfrentan; analizar las estrategias de gestión de la Biblioteca de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz para evidenciar su relación con los objetivos de aprendizaje, los contenidos y la mediación pedagógica; diseñar servicios y productos de información acordes al contexto y objetivos de aprendizaje de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz de manera que contribuyan activamente en el proceso educativo; proponer sistemas que permitan el trabajo colaborativo, el uso de los recursos de información, la comunidad y la simplificación de los procesos cotidianos de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz; diseñar un módulo de alfabetización informacional para contribuir en el desarrollo de competencias documentales en la comunidad educativa de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz y, por último, proponer un marco metodológico para la formulación de proyectos de información, que le facilite a la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz su gestión. En el marco teórico se explica o fundamenta el estudio de la tesis, en él se contempla los siguientes temas: educación, bibliotecas escolares, centros de recursos para el aprendizaje, alfabetización informacional, integración curricular, además de información sobre la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz y su biblioteca. El enfoque de la investigación es mixto; el tipo de estudio es descriptivo, proyectivo y exploratorio; los sujetos que aportaron información fueron la Directora de la institución, el profesional en Bibliotecología, el personal docente y el estudiantado; las fuentes de información fueron documentos (impresos y digitales) sobre la temática, así como materiales elaborados por la Escuela. Las técnicas de recolección de datos utilizadas fueron la encuesta y el análisis de contenido. Algunos de los resultados obtenidos en la fase diagnóstica son los siguientes: Para la Directora, la Biblioteca es un centro en el cual el estudiante puede encontrar la información necesaria ya que está orientada al tipo de población meta, además está incorporada en las actividades curriculares del centro educativo, para la Bibliotecóloga, es importante la política educativa y el cambio educativo visto desde la biblioteca, ya que la biblioteca tiene que estar en función del estudiante, el personal docente rescata la importancia del fomento a la lectura y los talleres, y apoyan el cambio de las lecciones magistrales a unas más dinámicas. En cuanto a los estudiantes opinan que la biblioteca es un centro educativo diferente al aula, ya que en este pueden encontrar información valiosa para sus trabajos, además de que cuentan con el servicio de la bibliotecóloga para hacer actividades relacionadas con la lectura y salir de la rutina del horario escolar. Con base en estos resultados se realizaron cuatro propuestas para la integración efectiva de la Biblioteca de la Escuela Hernán Rodríguez Ruíz al currículo educativo. La primera propuesta “La magia de leer” trata de inculcar la importancia de la lectura en los niños y en las niñas mediante diversas estrategias para despertar su curiosidad; la propuesta número dos “Lecto-Virtual” trata de involucrar la tecnología en la biblioteca, para la cual se utilizó una herramienta colaborativa llamada Jimdo, con el fin de fomentar la lectura en la población estudiantil; en la tercera propuesta se diseñaron diez módulos de alfabetización informacional con diferentes actividades lúdicas, logrando así que el estudiante pueda ser capaz de utilizar información de manera verídica y oportuna para sus trabajos, estos módulos son de fácil uso para docentes que quieran trabajar estas propuestas de manera dinámica y activa en talleres con una duración de ochenta minutos. La última y cuarta propuesta presenta una serie de estudios los cuales sirven para verificar si un proyecto es factible mediante la elaboración del marco lógico, el análisis de involucrados y el análisis de alternativas. Posteriormente, las conclusiones de este trabajo de investigación están orientadas a la satisfacción de los estudiantes, para ello se tomó en cuenta el diagnóstico para conocer la opinión de la directora, bibliotecóloga, docentes y estudiantes y saber la situación actual de la biblioteca. Asimismo, debe de tomarse en cuenta la tecnología para mejorar e innovar algunas funciones y actividades que son propuestas por la biblioteca. Para finalizar están las recomendaciones del trabajo de investigación, las cuales consisten en tratar de mejorar algunos aspectos de la biblioteca, como también de los factores que influyen en esta.

The school library is a very helpful element within the educational system, since it is committed to its importance in the development of skills in children. With the support of the library, educational centers have implemented quality services where they help to better develop the type of education in a playful and dynamic way, obtaining better results. Today's library takes a profile as a learning center where children can learn by experimenting, leaving aside the old meaning of keeping books. In this research, we bet for an improvement in the library service by including it in the curriculum of the educational center to which it belongs. Likewise, the objectives that guided this research are the following: as a general objective "To propose strategies for the integration of the library into the school curriculum of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School, through the design of information services and products, technological tools, programs and projects, congruent with the learning objectives, and with the needs detected in the institutional diagnosis". Consequently, the following specific objectives were derived from this general objective: to describe the educational context in which the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School Library operates, in order to identify the problems and challenges it faces; to analyze the management strategies of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School Library in order to evidence its relationship with the learning objectives, contents and pedagogical mediation; to design information services and products in accordance with the context and learning objectives of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School so that they actively contribute to the educational process; to propose systems that allow collaborative work, the use of information resources, community and the simplification of the daily processes of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School; to design an information literacy module to contribute to the development of documentary skills in the educational community of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School and, finally, to propose a methodological framework for the formulation of information projects, which will facilitate the management of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School. In the theoretical framework, the study of the thesis is explained or based on the following topics: education, school libraries, learning resource centers, informational literacy, curricular integration, in addition to information about the Hernán Rodríguez Ruiz School and its library. The focus of the research is mixed; the type of study is descriptive, projective and exploratory; the subjects who contributed information were the Director of the institution, the professional in Librarianship, the teaching staff and the student body; the sources of information were documents (printed and digital) on the subject, as well as materials produced by the School. The data collection techniques used were survey and content analysis. Some of the results obtained in the diagnostic phase are as follows: For the Director, the Library is a center in which the student can find the necessary information since it is oriented to the type of target population, in addition it is incorporated in the curricular activities of the educational center, for the Librarian, the educational policy and the educational change seen from the library is important, since the library has to be in function of the student, the educational personnel rescues the importance of the promotion to the reading and the workshops, and supports the change of the magisterial lessons to more dynamic ones. As for the students, they think that the library is an educational centre different from the classroom, since in the latter they can find valuable information for their work, and they also have the service of the librarian to do activities related to reading and to get out of the routine of the school timetable. Based on these results, four proposals were made for the effective integration of the Hernán Rodríguez Ruíz School Library into the educational curriculum. The first proposal "The Magic of Reading" tries to inculcate the importance of reading in boys and girls through various strategies to awaken their curiosity; the second proposal "Reading-Virtual" tries to involve technology in the library, for which a collaborative tool called Jimdo was used, in order to encourage reading in the student population; In the third proposal, ten information literacy modules were designed with different recreational activities, so that the student can be able to use information in a true and timely manner for their work. These modules are easy to use for teachers who want to work on these proposals in a dynamic and active way in workshops that last eighty minutes. The last and fourth proposals present a series of studies which serve to verify whether a project is feasible by developing the logical framework, analysing those involved and analysing alternatives. Subsequently, the conclusions of this research work are aimed at student satisfaction. To this end, the diagnosis was taken into account in order to find out the opinion of the director, librarian, teachers and students and to know the current situation of the library. Likewise, technology must be taken into account to improve and innovate some functions and activities that are proposed by the library. Finally there are the recommendations of the research work, which consist of trying to improve some aspects of the library, as well as the factors that influence it.
